Policy File
At home, I was surfing twelvestone, and came across this link. As it turns out, if you have a Flash 6 .swf file that accesses/loads data, and the domain of the requested data is different from the domain of the requesting .swf file… users with the Flash 7 plugin will see a security error popup.

How to create a policy file
A new development is that, with the Flash 7 player, www.mysite.com and mysite.com are considered two different domains.
I scrambled for a bit, going over all files trying to see if anything I had fit the above criteria. Thankfully, we’ve all agreed at work to publish out for Flash 5 until the penetration statistics for Flash 6 improve. On top of that, I’m glad I’m not doing too much fancy shmancy stuff, as this might have been a complete nightmare to "fix," as it were.
Note to self: build in clause that covers for this kind of thing on all future contracts.
Much thanks to persist, for posting this info.
