Errands

Without an alarm, I jolted awake at 7:30AM. I was all over the place this morning. Drove to work to get my check, went to Target, dropped off my movies, went to Stanley's, and was able to get most of my busywork done by 10:00AM. A quick shower and some puttering later... I was out the door by about 11:30AM.

I had originally planned on getting some stuff done around the house, but ultimately decided I needed to go on a walk. And head to Barnes and Nobles for some shopping, over at Webster Place.

Normally, I'd drive. Or ride my bike. But today, I wanted to walk and snap a few pictures. I packed my camera up, grabbed some extra batteries (just in case) and started walking down Cortland.

I stopped at this, and began thinking about galleries and displays. If it has a frame, what's to say it's not art?

I'm not sure what this means, or why it's here. But someone went to the trouble of climbing up on this bridge to scrawl this word in a spot where many people would not see it.

There are some metalshops along Cortland, and I honestly don't know what goes on inside. Every once in a while, I see some monstrous vehicle slowly make its way across the street around here. To this day, I'm unsure what those vehicles to. They're like zambonis, but two to three times as tall.

All around the area, there are a smattering of sculptures and plaques. I'm unclear if they're meant to be for the city and represnt the factories... or if they're meant for the factories, and were placed here by the city.

I was going to come back and get the details on this one... but ended up taking another way home. This is... I dunno. Some kind of micrometer?

This is a small pathway that cuts behind a lot of the buildings/stores in this area. Often, it's a great shortcut to take if you want to avoid the traffic on the main roads. I forget what the street is actually called (Magnolia?).

There's nothing really of interest here, but I still felt like taking a picture, just so you could get a sense of what this stretch of road is like. It's either dead quiet, or there's a car driving through. And if there's a car, 9 times out of 10 it's going as fast as it can.
