Justin @ Danny's

Hey, I think I know that guy.

Also, I found out that Justin was opening for Jeff Parker.

Justin, spinning the vinyl.

I gotta say - for someone who had his first gig not too long ago, it seems that Justin's progressed pretty quickly. Getting a DJ gig at Danny's is (to me) a pretty big thing, and I know it's been something Justin's been shooting for ever since he started. But really - it's not all that surprising. Once Justin sets his mind on something, it's as good as done.

Actually - Danny's is dark as hell inside. I used flashes sparingly, because it's pretty intrusive given how "subdued" the place is. While it is somewhat dark, it allows for the slide projector to do its magic quite well.

Justin, post-show, talking with Dave.

Over the course of the night, I talked with Chris and Dave at length about music. I asked them what they were currently listening to, and had them write down suggestions for me. I don't feel as well versed as the two of them, and got some good paths to follow. We hit a wide range of topics, talking about the roots of dancehall to Sam Cooke to Bach and Mozart. Fun conversations all around.

I need to swing by Reckless, and buy me some CD's.

Chris, Justin and Dave.

I didn't get shots of them, but Howard was also in attendance, as was his friend Craig (who's visiting from out of town), and Phil (who I had met briefly at InnerTown many months back), and Michael (who I haven't seen in ages).

I took off a bit early, and caught a ride back home with Dave and Chris. By midnight, the day had caught up to me, and I was ready for nothing more than the kind of sleep that comes from a decent day's work (and a decent night's fun to boot).
