Let's start off with some backstory.
A week ago (and ironically, the same day that I lost my balance on the CTA), I decided to tempt fate and ordered myself a pair of Fun Slides.
What are they? Well, I mentioned them last November, when they were voted one of the 10 Most Dangerous Toys of 2004.
And today? Right at noon, as though on cue?

Felix's Chinese name is Wei Tien. For the longest time, he thought his name meant "very sky." But he later found out it roughly translated to "Preserver of Heaven."
Felix was in show choir in high school. He can still pull out the old "jazz hands" if need be, due in no small part to muscle memory.
Every once in a while, Felix has some interesting run-ins with other Asians. At times, they're armed with cameras; at other times, he has the slight feeling that they might be armed, period.
