Milkshakes and Playgrounds
I got a call from Liz after she got done working, and headed over to meet her at her place. My headache thing was sort of fading by this time, and I spent the rest of the evening trying to shake it off.
Since it was so nice out, the two of us decided to go for a walk around her neighborhood. We stopped off at Cold Stone and both got some shakes (I got French Vanilla with Kit-Kats, Liz got Strawberry Malt with Oreos). After that, we roamed around some side streets near her place, just East of Wrigley Field.

We found our way to a playground, and hung out here for a bit. It's been a long time since I've ventured onto a playground, but it felt cool to just swing around on the bars, go down the slides and lounge around on the jungle gym. This sort of thing is imperative, I think, if you want to stay young. :)
Liz and I talked a lot about apartments, about saving money, and about what the next few years would hold for us - the idea of saving enough to buy new cars, buying property, that sort of thing. It was an interesting conversation to have, given the place. A lot of talk about the future, in a place that we used to frequent in the past.
The evening was nice - warm enough to walk around with just a hoodie. On our way back, Liz showed me this incredible block of houses. I think it the name of the street (I swear to god) was Alta Vista. Something like that. All the houses were flush one with the other, and each side of the street was seemingly one solid structure - house after house after house.
This street was pretty amazing. And I'm not sure my descriptions can do it justice. It felt a bit like New Orleans, in that there were no alleyways... and all the buildings seemed to run into one another.
At the Southern end of the street, we found a small placard outlining the fact that Alta Vista Terrace was technically a Chicago Landmark. And, after digging around online... I found some more info regarding the street's history (and some great photos to boot).
Buying a home on this street would be absolutely amazing. If I ever win the lottery, this is one place I'm looking. And while I wouldn't sell my soul to live here... I can tell you, I'd be debating that sale for a while, before I said no.

On the walk home, I stopped to grab this shot. Nothing special, but the symmetry thing gets me every time.
Tonight was a great time - just walking around, sipping on a milkshake and roaming around the neighborhood. I can only hope the rest of spring is like tonight.
