Well, it sort of snuck up on me - but my blog turned 5 today. It's crazy to think that I've actually been doing... THIS for five years, daily.

Ok, ok. I've missed a few days here and there. I know I've got a few gaps. But for the most part, I think I'm not being dishonest in saying that I run a daily blog here. And that I've been fairly consistent about things.

So wow. Stopping to think about it, five years is a really long time. Looking over some numbers, here's what I've found:

Over the course of five years, I've posted 449 MB of images, 1,031 MB of Flash content (videos mostly) and a total of 5,311 entries - roughly 2.9 posts per day. The blog has also gone through 3 versions, beginning with a homegrown solution where I edited things all by hand. Now, in its third incarnation, everything is run through Movable Type (and thank GOD for that).

I realized that today would be the five year mark just recently, and I haven't had time to come up with anything really fancy or novel, to mark the occasion. Kind of bummed about that, actually - it seems like a significant milestone, as I'm not sure how many other long-term blogs are out there.

The most I thought to do was to get back over to the Damen Blue Line stop... and try to re-take the very first photo I ever posted.

Thanks to all of you who swing by and read this thing. Whether you've stumbled upon it recently or have been reading along for years, it's nice knowing there are other folks on the other side of the screen, checking things out.
