Drinks and Pool at Rose's

Went out tonight with Liz to meet Jake and his girlfriend Jessie over at Rose's. It's been a long while since I've been here, and this was only my second visit to the bar.
At first, I was a bit uncomfortable (I don't know why, new places just tend to do that to me). And it took me some time to get settled in, before I loosened up some. But after Jake and Jessie showed up, and we moved over to a table... I was able to relax a bit more.

My photos from inside were all pretty dark, and this was about the best of them. I held off on the flash, as I always feel so intrusive whenever it's a small, enclosed space.
John and Erin (Jessie's friends) joined us after a bit, and John and I geeked out a lot about Star Wars and video games. We had some pretty fun, interesting discussions for the remainder of the evening. I also got into a neat talk with Erin (who is someone who likes her alone time). She and I talked at length about our ratios of public to private time. It was cool to discuss that sort of thing with someone else who shared an almost physical need for solitude, at times.
Later on in the evening, Jake and I shot a few rounds of pool. I'm way rusty, and incredibly out of practice. I sank a few shots, but Jake ended up going on a few good runs. The folks we played were all really, really good (and despite being really drunk, they shot like pros). Shooting tonight made me itch to play more pool, and Jake mentioned going out sometime to do just that.
I need to look around for some pool halls, but in thinking about it more: Rose's is tough to beat. 50 cent table, and $2 Old Styles ($1 if they know you're a regular). I'll have to see about taking Jake up on that offer.
I also ended up trading some contact info with John. It's strange, as he recognizes both me and Liz... but can't quite place where he may have met us. But apparently, we look familiar. In talking to Liz, she told me the same thing: John and Erin look familiar to her, but she has no idea why. Hm - wonder if my dopplegänger is to blame.
