The Toothpick and the Goon Squad: Jury Duty Case Info Discovered

Looking over my stats this morning in Google Anaylitcs, I saw a few search strings that brought people to my site. Specifically, someone was searching using "wayne adams" rotkvich as their search terms. I didn't recognize the names, and wasn't sure why anyone would pull my site up searching under [read more...]

On the Way to Work: Heavy Snowfall

We got hit with a ton of snow yesterday, which lasted through the entire night. This morning, on the way to work... I stopped to take a few photos en route. I don't think the snowfall amount was a record breaker, but it was definitely the most we've had so [read more...]

Dinner with Jake, Jessy, and an Upside Down Bunny

Jake and Jessy stopped by this evening, for a dinner over at our place. The two of them were travelling in Nicaragua over Christmastime, and recently got back to the States a few weeks back. It's been a while since we've hung out with them, so tonight had us all [read more...]

Filler: Addictive Flash Ball Game

Filler is a great game by SimianLogic where you attempt to fill 2/3 of the screen with filler balls. The longer you press down, the bigger your filler ball gets; it stops growing when it either touches another filler ball, or gets hit by a bouncing ball. Great fun, [read more...]

New Features: Comment Style and Live Preview Added

I spent the day putzing around with my Archive Templates, and tweaked the whole comment process a bit. I added a little dialog balloon style, and hopefully that makes them seem a step up from the boxy gray rectangles they were prior to today. Also, I applied Jesse Gardner's tutorial [read more...]

My Promotion: Director of Design Services

At work of late, there have been a lot of changes. The past six months plus have been an incredibly busy and tumultuous time for my company: good things, but a great deal of change to go along with those good things. We've moved in to a new office (and [read more...]

Arcade Fire Music Video: Black Mirror / rorriM kcalB

I'm more a fan of the interface than this song, but check out Arcade Fire's "Black Mirror / rorriM kcalB." It's pretty amazing how much the song changes, depending on which tracks you mute/enable. Visually, it evokes a mixture of Guy Maddin and "Time Bandits" for me. Definitely have [read more...]

Saw this on the way to work, and was reminded of how much I used to photograph balloons. I was also reminded of a specific moment of unbearable happiness involving another blue balloon, almost three years ago. [read more...]

Bryan Has a Substantial "To-Do" List

Bryan was out sick today, but needed a few files so he could finish things from home. Unbeknowst to me, Allison slowly filled Bryan's iMac with little To-Do Post-It notes over the course of the entire day... averaging at least one an hour. Ben took this fantastic photo (which [read more...]

Black (and Blue) Balloons

On the way to work this morning, I saw the blue balloon again. Today, it looks a bit worse for wear, after having survived a pretty heavy downfall of snow the past day or two. On seeing it this morning, I was reminded of a black balloon I saw [read more...]

Aggressive Overture or Defensive Measure: USB-Controlled Missile Launcher Appears

At work, I noticed that Chris C (silently) set up a USB-controlled missile launcher above his desk. Being a resident of a nearby desk (and well within striking distance), this escalation in the inter-office arms race was decidedly unnerving. [read more...]

Last Valentine's Day Revisited: rr chocolats

A week or so ago, I got an email from someone named Sonja. Turns out, she works for rr chocolats, and came across my blog entry from Valentine's Day, 2007. She was looking for mentions of the company's chocolats, and wondered if she could post up our "story" on [read more...]

The White Lobster: Found Cocaine and the Economy of Bluefields, Nicaragua

This morning I got sucked into a fascinating story about Bluefields, Nicaragua. Due to its location (halfway between Columbia and the US), a lot of drug smugglers pass by. Oftentimes, when the smugglers are fleeing authorities... they end up throwing the drugs overboard, effectively getting rid of the evidence. [read more...]

Don't Look Back
