Heavy Metal Cab Ride

I hopped a cab home from downtown last night, and on getting in... I noticed the "Scorpions" label over the cabbie's radio. At first glance, it looked to me like an old 8-track player. But looking closer, I realized that it was just a detailed CD-cover flap.

When I asked the cabbie about it (his name was Muhammed, and he was a pretty young guy), he got pretty enthusiastic and he asked about the music I listened to. We talked at length about old heavy metal bands, and I mentioned some of the groups I used to like, back in high school. At one point he turned to me and said "Metallica? I've got some Metallica."

He sure did! When I asked to see what else he had, he started handing over a ton of CD's to me. I loved the fact that they were all home-burned copies, to boot... to say nothing of the fact that every track was written down by hand.

Chicago cab rides. Gotta love 'em.
