Today was our last day in the Merchandise Mart. I’ve been pretty busy with work all week, so the fact that we’re leaving here still… still hasn’t fully sunk in yet. I had to stop working on things at around noon, and finally got around to packing up my desk and all the random things…

Created by Pepere, Crazy Mammoths is an awesome little game that’s as fun as it is simple: try to get to the front of the line, and stay there. What I think is fantastic about this game (outside of the cute factor and the constantly changing environment) is that the controls are incredibly simple. One…

Dave is up to something pretty cool this weekend: he’ll be playing inside a giant speaker on Saturday, at the Hyde Park Arts Center. Part of The Speaker Project, Dave will be one of many participants who have been invited to perform inside the installation. Here’s a blurb from the site: Chicago based artist Juan…

This is what it looks like from the outside. This is what it looks like from the inside. Ugh. I can’t imagine doing that. I’m not so good with heights.

Today, I opened a can of tuna fish and caught myself trying to be super quiet about the whole thing. A moment later, I had the sudden realization that I would no longer hear the padding of curious footsteps, a sound I have tied to the opening of… well, any kind of can. Two weeks…

Liz and I took our scooters over to Lincoln Park for the afternoon. Alright, technically… they’re her scooters, and I just get to mooch. But I have to say, it’s pretty awesome, riding together. The trip over was pretty spectacular, as the sun was out, the sky was clear… and we were out and about….

Tonight, Jake and Lisa swung by to hang out. Jake joined Liz and I for dinner, and Lisa showed up a bit later to drink some beer and catch up. It’s crazy to think that we’ve only been here at this apartment (together) for a week. It definitely feels like so much longer than that….

Today also marks the first ripe lime that was picked from Matt’s lime tree. To celebrate, beer was purchased and the lime divvied up accordingly. Nothing but good reactions, all around. Guess those mites were only after the plant and not the fruit.

I walked in to the office this morning, and saw that all the crates had arrived for our move next week. It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly two years since our last move, and the last time we packed up our things in these crates. Ah well. Come next Friday, we’ll have everything…

Liz and I painted the office yesterday (Justin stopped by to help out for a bit). We got home from work, moved stuff around, and blew through the room – getting everything painted in one night. Not too shabby. This is where we set up my desk and my bookshelves. These are my books… mostly…

Liz has been getting her scooters fixed, and just yesterday… she got a call from Chad (her repair guy). He’s been working on getting the Black Vino set up, and we stopped over to pick it up last night. So… if I do the math right… and carry the one… this means we each get…
