Cinco De Mayo
Liz and Steph had a party tonight, plans being to hang out in the back yard and celebrate cinco de mayo. Which we did. By drinking margaritas. Constantly.

The whole week, Steph and I were joking about the weather and worrying it would rain the day of the party. This is a shot of the skyline that I found interesting. I kept looking to see if I could detect a storm.

This was a good omen. Literally right about where Liz and Steph’s house is, the sky seemed to divide. To the left was stormy, grey clouds; to the right, a widening expanse of blue.

:margarita:
Steph and I hung out a while, as I was the first to arrive. We chatted about work, and about writing a great deal. I noticed that, propped along the back garage, there was an old bathtub… upright. I declared, then and there, that before the night was over I would have someone take a picture of me standing inside the tub. The way it was positioned… it just screamed out for someone to stand in it, in my opinion.
I didn’t happen to photograph everyone in attendance tonight. The Hollises were there, and I ended up meeting two guys who lived nearby. One was Mike, who lives across the street. And I forgot the other guy’s name, but he lives in the downstairs apartment of Liz and Steph’s building. Both very cool guys, and fun to hang out with.
Hmm. What else? Oh yeah, I ended up making some guacamole and brought chips. This was my first attempt at guac, and though I think it might have been a bit bland… I was happy at the attempt. Hopefully, this is a good sign I’ll try my hand at making food for others more often.

Classy Steph.

The camera didn’t really come out until fairly late in the evening (after everyone had thrown a few down). Here, Chelsea breaks out the big smile.

Inside, getting a refill, I get distracted by the fridge.

Liz indulges my request to pose.
