Float No Go

There were plans to go floating again at the tanks, but I was feeling like crap all day. I opted not to go and everyone else, in turn, didn’t end up going. I got some ribbing from Ben and Justin, which I deserved. But all in all, the last thing I wanted to do while feeling queasy is to get naked and hop in a big enclosed tank of saltwater.

We should be going tomorrow, or Thursday though.

Today was an interesting day at work. Ben and I spent most of our time going through and optimizing images for the various Meet Markets we have across the Network. Basically, the stations host a page for anyone who signs up, where they can post info about themselves, a long with a picture.

However. Not all of them know how to crop images. Or resize them.

We’re changing up the workflow process on this, and hope to implement a stricter review process so that the image sizes don’t get out of control. Keep in mind that the typical image is 210 pixels wide. The biggest one I’ve found that someone’s uploaded is a 9.5 MB bitmap.

Yeah.

What’s also interesting is how easily some people seem to simply take a photo and just cut off what is presumably an ex-girlfriend/ex-boyfriend, leaving an arm around the waist or some such. My favorite so far has been a woman and a man, him with his arm around her shoulders, and a big, black oval over the guy’s face.

Today was interesting, despite the hangover. A slow, open, resize, crop, save for web type of day. Cycling through a ton of submitted photos is very, very interesting to say the least.
