Pitching Arm From Hell

Justin and I stopped down at Dunphy’s for an after-work drink. What was going to be a quick chat turned into a fairly extended session. Originally, my order was for a Johnny Walker Red and Jim Beam, straight. He served it to us on the rocks, and when I returned the drinks… we got these monsters instead:

I gotta tell you. My jaw dropped when I saw him pour these.

As we worked our way down, Justin and I ended up having some great talks. We started with work (as always), but meandered to friends and women, as we are want to do. On an odd note, we started talking about my friends from Columbus, and how I played a surprising amount of Truth or Dare while I was a graduate student.

We got to talking about vulnerabilities, and how such games provide a backdrop of mutually assured destruction. By exposing oneself (and learning enough damning information about another), a certain level of trust gets build as a matter of course.

This led to some interesting questions we asked one another, and the two of us got into this great back and forth. I’d love to recreate some of those Columbus evenings here with my friends in Chicago… whether or not that’s a possibility, only time will tell.

Justin and I had some good questions, and hit quite a few confessional moments. But… I’m not going into that here. Sorry. If you’re really curious, I guess you’ll just have to come out drinking with us, and answer a few questions of your own.
